Family Law

We have the experience to know that every family law case is different.  This is where our firm’s focus on our relationship with our client is especially important.  The approach that we use to analyze and work through your case emphasizes listening to what is important to you, and then discussing what potential options are available to protect your interests and achieve your goals based on the facts specific to your case.  Maybe negotiation makes sense, or is litigation the right course of action?

Although conflict and adversity are often common at the beginning of many family law cases, it  does not mean that conflict has to or should continue.   Mediation and informal settlement conferences are both alternatives that may be utilized to minimize conflict and still achieve a positive result for you. Sometimes avoiding conflict is not possible.  On those occasions, a court hearing or trial may be necessary, and we have the knowledge, skill and experience to litigate family law issues.

We handle family law cases of all types, including:

  • Divorce
  • Child custody and relocation
  • Child support
  • Spousal support
  • Paternity
  • Legal separation and annulment
  • Adoption/Step-parent adoptions
  • Juvenile Law
  • Prenuptial and Postnuptial agreements
  • Asset division (stock option plans, retirement, business valuation)
  • Grandparent rights

When you choose our firm to handle your family law case, you will be represented by an experienced and compassionate family law attorney. However, some family law cases are especially complex and may involve other areas of the law, such as real estate, estate planning, foreclosure, business law, and domestic violence. One of the strengths of our law firm is that we  have the experience and knowledge to be able to handle these other associated areas should the need arise.
